Product description

Magnesium chloride (chemical formula: MgCl2) is an oxide of magnesium, an ionic compound. It is a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in nature in the form of magnesite and is the raw material for magnesium smelting.

Physical properties: white or light yellow powder, odorless, tasteless, insoluble in water or ethanol, slightly soluble in ethylene glycol, melting point 2852ºC, boiling point 3600ºC,

Chemical properties: Magnesium oxide is an alkaline oxide, has the general properties of alkaline oxide, belongs to cementitious materials. Exposed to the air, easily absorb water and carbon dioxide and gradually become basic magnesium carbonate, light products faster than heavy products, combined with water to form magnesium hydroxide, a slightly alkaline reaction, the pH of saturated water solution is 10.3. Soluble in acids and ammonium salts insoluble in water, the solution is alkaline. Insoluble in ethanol.

Main uses of magnesium chloride

1. In the chemical industry is an important inorganic raw material, used for the production of magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide and other magnesium compounds.

2 in the metallurgical industry for the production of metal magnesium, liquid chlordne and high purity magnesia, etc.

3. In the building materials industry, it is an important raw material for the production of light building materials such as glass fiber tile, decorative board, sanitary ware, ceiling, floor tile, magnesium oxygen cement and other high-rise building supplies.
